Of all the water marble designs I did this month, this is by FAR my favorite one! I think it's because of the bright colours and combining the water marble with a gradient. I found out that I like a water marble design more when the marble isn't on all the nails, it get to bust otherwise I find.
Note to self: Never do water marble on all nails AGAIN!
This colour combo is perfect for spring/summer too! The combination reminds me of blooming flowers and the first spring day with the sun after a dark and cold winter.
The colours I've used are all from the bleached neons collection by Maybelline. Sadly I do not own all colours of the collection, they only sold four of the collection here in the Netherlands. I'm still a bit sour about that... Anyway... The colours I do have, and I used for this marble are Tropink, Sun Flare, Coral Heat and Chic Chartreuse.
The gradient is done with the same colours. I used a damp makeup sponge to sponge on the colours this helps to prevent the nailpolish from soaking into the sponge.
I always have the problem with makeup sponges that there are a ton of little black hairs covering the sponge. When I want to do a gradient, I first check the sponge for any black hairs or other possible dirt. And I ALWAYS think the sponge is clean so I continue with applying the nailpolish to the sponge... And when I start to dap the sponge onto my nail to create a gradient it all turns bad real quick. Like magic the whole gradient is covered with teeny tiny black hairs and bumps because of them. Luckily the bumps dissapear when I apply the topcoat but the hairs are impossible to remove without ruining my gradient... Do any of you have the same problem? if so, did you switch to another kind of sponge or did you fix it a different way?
I already know that I don't want to take this nailart off..
