#32 New Years Eve Nails!

And just like that, Christmas is over and we almost get to leave the year 2013 behind us and start fresh new year!

I wanted to do so much more Chistmas themed nail art! But I underestimated how busy I was before and during Christmas and just hadn't had the time to do all the designs I wanted to do. Lesson learned for next year: don't plan a lot when you have absolutely no time to do all! ;)

For New Years Eve I wanted to keep it simple but sparkly(I don't even know if that is a word!) At first I wanted to make this nail art without the black base colot, but it's for New Year Eve! And when I think of new years eve, I think about black skies with intense lights and colors! So black base color it is ;)

This look is so versatile, you can make this with darker colours like I did for my New Years Eve manicure. But you can also replace the black with a lighter polish and use different glitters! Or replace the silver colours with golden colours to make the manicure a bit 'warmer'

So this is my last manicure for the year 2013. I started this year with my youtube channel and my (you can almost call it an) obsession with nail art. And I regret nothing! The nail art community is a wonderfull place with wonderfull people. And I'm glad I am a part of this AMESOME community!

To all a blessed and awesome New Year!

And to even more nail art :D

#30 Snowflakes!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I'm SO PROUD about this nail art!

With the smallest and thinnest brush I carefully made these snowflakes, not out of glitters this time, but out of acrylic white paint. I had so much fun making these! And I think I like these better than the candy cane nail art I did a week or so ago ;)

The products I used for this awesome(!) nail art are listed below:

#29 Ice Crystals

Second Christmas themed nail art!

This time I created a nail art with diamond shaped glitters. It was a little bit of a pain to place the glitters on the nail, but with every placement it got easier.

The products I used for this mani are listed below. I used a dark blue for my base, but I think that if you want to use a red color for the base this manicure will stil look awesome!

#28 First Christmas themed mani: Candy Canes!

Sweet, sweet candy canes, almost want to eat my nails ;)

It's december, the time for christmas themed manis! And I have SO much ideas! Can't wait to show you all!

The first mani I made is this candy cane madness! I used a magnetic polish for the base and some red and white acrylic paint to make the cany canes. I never used the magnetic polishes I own. I have three magnetic polishes, didn't liked them at the start, but when I was looking for the polishes I wanted to use for this nail art I saw this kinda red purple magnetic polish and figured 'Why not?' and I'm glad I did! It's a subtle effect underneath the candy canes. But I think it finishes this nail art!

For the first time I made pictures outside, and wow what a difference. It was cold and a bit cloudy. But the pictures are still better than the ones I made inside. It's a bit sad that I discover this when it's getting really cold outside and getting darker earlier.

I made a lot of pictures of this mani because I really like the outcome of this one! Before and after I added the candy canes! ;)

Just look at that ring!

#27 Matt green and blue dots!

These were just to try out something, but I ended up liking them a lot!

I always look around on Instagram, Tumblr, WeHeartIt and Youtube for inspiration on nail designs. And I found a mani with a white base and all different sizes of dots. In different colors. I thought it looked awesome and wanted to try it out. The image I found was with the colors yellow, red and orange. But I decided to try it out with just two colors: a light green and a blue.

A few days before I made this mani, I bought new dottingtools! I already wanted to try them out, but somehow couldn't decide on what to make with them, so this came right on time ;)

Also I wanted to use this mani for a (sort of) contest for a toyshop here in the Netherlands. In this toyshop they have a little 'beauty department' with a small amount of nailpolishes, jewelry etc. On one of the shelving there was a note. On that note they were asking for someone who wanted to make how to video's with those products, all you had to do was make a tutorial video and upload that on your youtube channel and send an email with the link to that tutorial video to the organizers of the contest. I wanted to join immediately because I just thought it would be fun to try.

I made this tutorial for this contest, but ended up not sending the mail with the link to the organizers of the contest. I wanted to, but when I got time to edit and upload this video the contest had already ended.. :( Well I don't mind to much, I had fun making this and now it's just a tutorial for my channel! ;)

I didn't use a lot of polishes for this look, for the dots you can just go for one color, or like I did two. But I think you can use a lot more colors and this mani would still look cool!

#26 Baby blue nails for my sister

You can call me an aunt now! :D

A month ago, my sister gave birth to a baby boy. He's a beautiful little boy and I love him already!
For this, I made a nailart with a baby blue and a darker blue. The design is easy to recreate with a striper or a toothpick.

The polishes I used for this look are the following:

#25 Fingerprint nails!

Your own fingerprint on top of your nails!

I'm an night person, I can stay awake for hours and be busy till late. A few days ago I was awake late and I was just chilling in my room. I was actually getting ready to go to bed. And somehow a idea popped in my head, I can't remember what I was thinking about and how I got this idea, but I couldn't wait to try it to see if it worked. The idea I had was the following: Use some acrylic paint, paint your nails white, cover the back of your right finger with the acrylic paint (if you're painting the left hand) and when the white polish almost dried push your finger coated in a acrylic paint on the finger and Ta-Da! your fingerprint on your nails!

At first I thought that the acrylic paint would just be a big smoosh on the nail. But it actually worked! I tried some different colors on the white polish. Some were better than others. If you want to re-create this manicure, you get the best result with a red or blue acrylic paint. Yellow and green totally didn't worked for me. But try out what works and looks the best for you.

It's a really nice effect on the nails. And because I used acrylic paint, you can easily wash the paint of your fingers with some water. A super fast and super easy design!

I wish I discovered this idea earlier, because I think this is a perfect nailart for halloween. Better next year ;)

You don't need a lot of polishes/acrylic paint for this manicure but the polishes I used are listed below:
