Inspired by: MadeYewLook Lava Makeup

I was inspired by an amazing makeup artist on youtube. Her youtube name is MadeYewLook and this naillook is inspired by her latest tutorial.

She makes awesome creations on her face/upperbody. I started watching her tutorials about two months or so ago and I wish I could recreate all her creations on my nails! ;)

I basically followed her tutorial exactly like she does the lava on her face. And it's really easy! But the end result is truly awesome!

For this look I only used a yellow nailpolish from NYC 'Lexington Yellow' and the other colours are acrylic paints, black, red and orange.

If you want to she the video that inspired me to make this nailart: Lava makeup

Swatches: Catrice 'Get The Blues' & 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore'

Today I have two polishes I swatched for you. The reason I show you these two polishes at the same time is because I think they look similar but slightly different. The 'Get The Blues' is a more blue-ish oily like polish and the 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore' is a more purple oily like polish.

I have a total weak spot for polishes like these. I like polishes with more than one colour. Like holographic, chromes etc.

And I mean look at the bottles:

Sadly the camera didn't pick up all the different colour shifts of the polishes. But this was the closest I could get to the colour accuracy.

This is three coats of 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore'. When I applied the first coat I thought I would need a ton of coats, but even after the second coat the polish already looked more opaque

And this is three coats of 'Get The Blues'. On pictures it looks kinda grey-ish. But in real life it really isn't! And just like the 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore' the first coats looked like I applied absolutely nothing on my nail. But the second coats also made a big difference!

And I added some extra pictures

Autism Awareness Nail Art Collab!

April is the month of National Autism Awareness. And a beautiful lady on Instagram @amcpolish hosted a collab to raise awareness for autism. The theme was 'Roar for autism' which meant you had to create a blue nail art using cheetah, zebra or any animal print!

#47 Then & Now: Sneakers!

Today is a I don't want to get out of my bed day. It's grey and rainy outside, with some real strong wind. I just didn't want to go outside and do stuff. So I just grabbed my laptop, put on some series and grabbed some polishes and started doing nail art: I recreated my first nailart! Sneaker-ish nail art.

This nailart that started it all! My first ever nail art that wasn't water marble. I don't really know when I created this, I think summer last year. And I was so proud of this nail art. But when I look at it now, gosh. Look at those cuticles!

And this is how it looks when I recreated it almost a year later:

I actually think they look more like corsets than shoelaces. But however I still like them a lot!

The polishes I used are 'Raindrops' and 'Streetstylers' both from NYC and #809 from Hema.
And to make the black laces I used very diluted acrylic paint.

For this then&now I also made a tutorial on how to recreate this look, if you're curious on how I did this and/or want to recreate it yourself you can click right here, and you'll go directly to the tutorial!

If you happen to use this tutorial to recreate this design, I want to see your creation! You can post the picture on my Facebookpage or tag #lookdutchnailss on Instagram!

#46 Pink clingfilm nail art

With the colours of the limited editon 'Crème Fresh' from Catrice which I swatched this week, I also made a clingfilm nail art.

This was the second time I tried the clingfilm technique, the first time I absolutely loved the results so I wanted to try it again ;) And it won't be the last time I did this either ;) This look reminds me of spring, Fresh and new: All the trees get new green leaves, all kinds of flowers pop out of the ground and birds begin to sing their song again.

I made tons of pictures of this nail art, just because it was a nice day and I loved the result so much! So prepare because I have a lot of pictures to share! ;)

The polishes used for this nail art are all from the Crème Fresh limited edition from Catrice. 'Make fast at Tiffany's' 'Evergreen 60s' 'Another Pink Panther' and 'Light your fire'

If you want to see how I did this I uploaded a tutorial on this nail art today! You can click right here to go directly to the video.

And, if you feel inspired by this (or any other) nail art I did, and you want to share it with me, you can! You can tag me on Instagram using #lookdutchnailss (dubble s!) or post it on my Facebookpage

Swatches: Catrice Limited Edition - 'Crème Fresh'

Planned to swatch this set for a while now, and finally got the time to do it!

This limited edition consist of five light colored polishes, I bought four of the five.

And since the weather in The Netherlands finally is getting a tad bit better these four colours are perfect to use for nail art or just to use by itself. Even on the greyer days these bright colours are guaranteed to get you in a good mood!

Four creamy polishes, three light pastel-like colours and one bright dark pink colour. The dark pink doesn't really fit in I think. But it's still a beautiful colour!

Three coats of 'Make fast at Tiffany's'

Two coats of 'Evergreen 60s'

Two coats of 'Another Pink Panther'

And two coats of 'Light your fire'
