Nail Art Challenge May Completed!

It's getting near the end of the day for me here. And that means the end of the month May and the beginning of a new month! But first I completed both challenges!

May Nail Art Challenge: Cartoon

I'm done! With this nail art I've finished both of the challenges for this month! And I've already said it in the post about the other challenge, but I am kinda proud of myself for completing two challenges in one month!

May Nail Art Challenge: Nautical

Hello ladies! Did you have a good day today? I hope so! :)

The second to last challenge for the May nail art challenge. Nautical!

Random Nail Art Challenge: May - Completed!

Secretly I'm really proud of myself for completing this challenge! And almost completing the other challenge as well! (expect the final posts on those tonight!)

When I first started the two challenges I was already thinking that I could not handle two challenges at a time, that I would be painting my nails one theme and right after removing the nail art I made just to start with another theme. Fortunately that did not happen! I had a chance to enjoy all the nail arts I made this month! And I hope you liked them too :)

For Instagram I made a collage of all the nail art I made for this challenge! I'd thought I share them here too!

When I look at all the nail art, I like the sunflowers and the paisley the most, but that does not mean I don't like the others ;) I like them all!

Let's hope the challenges for June are as fun!

Have fun painting and creating

May Nail Art Challenge: Wild

Good afternoon ladies! With the clouds slightly disappearing and the sun finally showing his warm face, I have another nail art to show you all!

With the last challenge: wild I've completed the random nail art challenge! A day later than planned, but I did it! For the other challenge I still have two more nail art challenges to go and then I'll have completed both! I am still thinking about doing another challenge for june, not so sure still. But we'll see! ;)

Since the fruity nail art from before this nail art I am kinda liking french tips on my nails, so I've done a frecnh tip for this challenge as well. The nailpolishes I used for this nail art are: #809 by Hema; 'Minter Wonerland' and 'ApHolo 7' by Catrice and black acrylic paint.

I just love the simplicity of these nails :)

#54 May Nail Art Challenge: Fruity!

Good afternoon ladies! On this rainy day I have some colourful nail art for you! For the first time I've tried out fimo's and I must say; I think I like these tiny tiny things! I hope the fimo fruit will stay on for a decent amount of time but I fear the worst.. If they survive the night, they have to survive me working tomorrow, so fingers crossed ;)

For this nail art I used #809 from Hema 'High Line Green' by NYC 'Orange-Utan' and 'Bloody Mary To Go' by Catrice

#53 May Nail Art Challenge: Sunflowers

Second last challenge for the random nail art may challenge: Sunflowers! and oh my, I love the way these came out! So prepare for a ton of pictures! ;)

For this nail art I only used a nailpolish for the base: 'Planet Tokyo' by Catrice, and the other colours are all acrylic paints.

If you are interested in how I did this nail art, I made a tutorial and uploaded it tonight! For the video you can click right here, and you'll go directly to the video.

And for the pictures, I could NOT choose which pictures I wanted to share with you all. So I ended up with a lot more pictures than normal

May Nail Art Challenge: Dinosaurs

Another blogpost for you today! Another challenge for the random nail art challenge.
The challenge for today was Dinosaurs!

I really struggled with this nail art, I had no clue how I could do something with dinosaurs on my nails, I searched WeHeartIt and Instagram for inspiration but didn't find anything of which I though I could use.

So I kept this one really simple but I still think it came out ok. For this nail art I used only one nailpolish. 'Dirty Liana' by Catrice and the black is acrylic paint.

It supposed to be a dinosaur who has eaten all the leaves of the branch on my pinky and after that continued his walk with a full tummy ;)

Hope you like this nail art

May Nail Art Challenge: Yin Yang

Greeting lovely nailcrazies!

Today I don't have a huge blogpost for you. We are closing in on the end of may, and the end of the challenges, but we still have some to go! Today I made a super simple Yin Yang nail art

For this nail art I used a black nailpolish #851 by Hema and 'Nickel Minaj' by Catrice.

Pictorial on the 'Lava nails'

Good afternoon loves!

Almost a month ago I was inspired by a amazing artist to make these lava nails! At the time I didn't filmed it for a tutorial. Because I did not know if this would look good, or if it was a total nailfail! But when I applied the topcoat, I wished I did film a tutorial for this nail art.

So I decided to make a pictorial instead!

The only nailpolish I used is the yellow 'Lexington Yellow' by NYC and the black, red and orange are all acrylic paint.

1. Apply a base coat, let dry and apply two coats of yellow nailpolish

2. I always apply a matt topcoat on my nails before I do any nail art with acrylic paint, I find the paint is easier to apply when the nail is matt.

3. With the black acrylic paint and a small brush make some outlines where you want the lava rocks to be, make the rocks with sharp lines instead of smooth, round lines.

4. Fill in the black areas

5. Apply some orange acrylic paint at random places around the black rocks, don't be too neat

6. Do the same with red acrylic paint, but don't use the red at all the same places you painted with the orange paint

7. Wait until the paint has dried and apply a topcoat, and you're done :)

I you recreate this design, I would love to see it! You can tag me #LookDutchnailss on Instagram or post the picture on my Facebookpage

May Nail Art Challenge: Triangles & Fashion

What a beautiful day today, I've spent the whole day outside, first painting my nails and after that I did nothing but sitting in the sun. Now I am sitting inside again because clouds are covering the sun..

Today I've combined two challenges into one nail art. 'Triangles' form the random nail art challenge and 'Fashion' from the may nail art challenge. I also used the dry brush/distressed technique again for this nail art. I think this technique adds depth in the nail art when you add something ontop off the distressed look.

For the fasion part I made the distressed look, and for the triangles part I made... Circles! :D Bad joke... of course I made triangles ;)

For this nail art I used for the base 'Blindfold me blue' by Rimmel London and used 'Breakfast in bed' by Rimmel London and 'Eletrix blue' by Catrice for the dry brush effect. The black triangles are made with acrylic paint.

Next: Dinosaurs and Yin&Yang!

Nails of a friend!

Today I don't have my own nails to show you, but the nails of my friend! We hadn't seen each other for a while and today we went out for some dinner and after that I did her nails! :) We had lots of time to catch up and we did ;) We had lots of fun!

I used a gelpolish base and topcoat for this manicure to make this nail art last longer, the colours I used are 'My APPricot' by Catrice, 'Do not disturb' and 'Breakfast in bed' by Rimmel London Rita Ora Collection and 'Glamour girls' by Essence

May Nail Art Challenge: Tattoo

A day late, but here is my 'tattoo' nail art for the Random Nail Art May Challenge!
I didn't want to take my previous nail art off. I like the aztec nails too much ;)

But I didn't want to stop with the challenges. So I eventually removed the aztec nail art for this simple but cute nail art.

The polishes I used for this nail art are 'My APPricot' and 'Kitch me if you can' Both by Catrice. And the black is acrylic paint.

I first applied two coats of the 'My APPricot' and when that was dry I added one coat of the glitter 'Kitch me if you can' And when that coat was dry, i went over it again with the 'My APPricot'. To make the glitter a bit less shimmery.

And I know what you are thinking, this has nothing to do with any tattoo whatsoever. But for me it does
Ever since we had to put our oldest dog to sleep I wanted to have a paw tattoo on my wrist. She was a beautiful and super sweet dog. But I haven't had the courage to go get it done. But I will!

Next up: Fashion & Triangles!

#52 May Nail Art Challenge: Aztec

Today the challenge was to make a Aztec nail art and I really really(really really really) like to make any aztec or tribal nail art, it looks so nice in my opinion! So I was excited to do this for the may challenge.

For this nail art I used three nailpolishes and black acrylic paint. The polishes are named. 'Take it mint' 'Dirty Liana' and 'Holo in one' all by Catrice.

I also made a tutorial for this nail art, if you want to see how I did this, you can click right here and you'll go directly to the tutorial ;)

Oh, I'm so in love with this nail art especially the print on the middlefinger

May Nail Art Challenge: Sunset

Another challenge from the May nail art challenge. This time the theme was sunset. We're halfway into the month and I'm still keeping up with both of the challenges! ;)

For this nail at I was inspired by a picture my brother has made. And this is the picture that inspired me:

When I saw the challenge I immediatley knew I wanted to recreate a picture of my brother. So this is what I made on my own nails:

I'm kinda sad that the roe almost dissapears in the light that reflects on my nails, and I just could not find a better pose to fix that :(

The polishes I used for this nail art are #809 from Hema and on top of that I sponged 'Bloody Mary to Go' 'Orange-Utan' and 'Birdy Reloaded' all by Catrice.

I always have a hard time cleaning up my cuticles when I use a red for sponging (as you can see my cuticles are still kinda red) I wanted to try out a different technique to clean my cuticles up, but I totally forgot about that plan when I was sponging the colours on! Silly me ;)

I hope you like this nail art, plenty more to come this month!

#51 May Nail Art Challenge: Teal

As I'm writing this, its close to being the next day already.. oops.. But it still is the 13th of may. And for this day I have a teal nail art for you girls!

A while back I bought a lot of polishes(Haul blogpost!) which included some nailpolishes from the Rimmel London Rita Ora collection. Which where perfect for this challenge!

The polishes I used are '873 Breakfast in bed' '863 Do not disturb' from Rimmel London and 'Supernova' by NYC

I have filmed a tutorial for this nail art, but I have a new laptop and now I have troubles installing my editing program.. So I will hopefully fix this soon!
