Hello! Todays nails were initially planned to be entered in a contest, but I've changed my mind and am just sharing this nailart!
Recently I did a one stroke design on a client of mine, after that I was inspired to do some one stroke flowers on my own nails.
The contest I wanted to enter these nails in is the contest from @xbea_nails. Her contest theme is nature(Still going on so if you want to enter go to her IG page for rules!) and after many ideas I settled on doing flowers. Because who doesn't think about flowers when you think about nature? I sure do. For the contest you could enter in one of three categories: Beginner, amateur and pro. I wanted to enter this one in the pro categorie, but after seeing the other pro entries I decided not to enter. I already wasn't completely sure if I wanted to enter this nailart and after seeing the other entries I was sure I wanted to try something else. Not because I think this nailart is bad, no no, I love the colours together and the flowers came out nice too. But not enough to join the contest in my opinion.
I created a gradient for the base but the colours were so similar that it didn't really showed up on the nails, on pictures you can't see it at all but in person you can see some brighter and darker purple spots. I used Snow me white from Sinfulcolors for the base The gradient is done with Inner purple of trust and Bed of flowers both from Catrice To add a little bit of bling I dabbed on some silver acrylic paint, and the flowers are done with a turquoise and white acrylic paint.
The purple base and the turquoise flowers are a beautiful colour combo, I never thought about this combo before but I think -I hope- I can use it more often. Personally I am not a big fan of purple, but the turquoise softens the purple a bit -and it doesn't make my nails look as pale when I use purple on it's own- I still want to enter the nature themed contest hosted by @xbea_nails so stay tuned for another nature nailart! x
