Swatches: Catrice 'Get The Blues' & 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore'

Today I have two polishes I swatched for you. The reason I show you these two polishes at the same time is because I think they look similar but slightly different. The 'Get The Blues' is a more blue-ish oily like polish and the 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore' is a more purple oily like polish.

I have a total weak spot for polishes like these. I like polishes with more than one colour. Like holographic, chromes etc.

And I mean look at the bottles:

Sadly the camera didn't pick up all the different colour shifts of the polishes. But this was the closest I could get to the colour accuracy.

This is three coats of 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore'. When I applied the first coat I thought I would need a ton of coats, but even after the second coat the polish already looked more opaque

And this is three coats of 'Get The Blues'. On pictures it looks kinda grey-ish. But in real life it really isn't! And just like the 'Berry Potter & Plumbledore' the first coats looked like I applied absolutely nothing on my nail. But the second coats also made a big difference!

And I added some extra pictures

Have fun painting and creating,

Swatches: Catrice Limited Edition - 'Crème Fresh'

Planned to swatch this set for a while now, and finally got the time to do it!

This limited edition consist of five light colored polishes, I bought four of the five.

And since the weather in The Netherlands finally is getting a tad bit better these four colours are perfect to use for nail art or just to use by itself. Even on the greyer days these bright colours are guaranteed to get you in a good mood!

Four creamy polishes, three light pastel-like colours and one bright dark pink colour. The dark pink doesn't really fit in I think. But it's still a beautiful colour!

Three coats of 'Make fast at Tiffany's'

Two coats of 'Evergreen 60s'

Two coats of 'Another Pink Panther'

And two coats of 'Light your fire'

Have fun painting and creating,

xoxo

#38 Thermal flower Nail Art

First of all, you might have noticed when you've watched the tutorial that I changed some things in the video. I'm trying out some things and I hope you don't hate it too much ;)

Today I made a random flower nail art with a thermal polish base. I liked the idea of the thermal polish changing the whole look of the mani with just having warm or cold hands.

This is how the mani looks like when cold..

And a lovely pink when warm :)

And the transition between warm and cold. The mani look different every time! :D

For the flowers I used a white, yellow and blue acrylic paint. And for the base colour I used the Essence Superheroes 'Fantastic Girl' polish.

I made a tutorial for this manicure. If you want to see exactly how I did this you can click right here and you'll go to my youtube channel.

If you feel inspired by this look and recreate it, I would love to see what you did! If you have instagram, just use the hashtag #dutchnailss and I will see your design! :D

Have fun painting and creating,

Swatches: Fragrance nail polish

My third swatch post! I'm starting to enjoy these blogpost more and more. This time I swatched four fragranced polishes. I never owned or tried a fragranced polish and I always thought that the scent would be weird.

When these polishes dry they all give off a
different scent. I bought this in a pak of four
different polishes.

The scents from left to right: Coconut, kiwi, strawberry and pineapple

The coconut scent polish is a transparent polish. Perfect to use as a topcoat. The scent actually is very similar to a real coconut. Of all the four polishes, this was the only one I thought the smell was the most similar to the real deal.

Oh my.. The kiwi scented polish.. This one doesn't smell at all like kiwi! And I really can't  describe how it does smell. I don't like the smell but I do like the color a little. A nice green colour base for a floral nail art or something? ;)

The strawberry polish, this is a very bright pink! The scent of this one reminded me of the bubblegum I always wanted when I was a little girl. It smelled not like the real fruit but like candy. Not a let down though! I really like the scent actually and the colour is beautiful too.

The last polish of the pack: Pineapple scented polish. I never eat pineapple because I don't like the taste of the fruit. So I don't really know how a pineapple smells. BUT if a real pineapple smells like this polish does... I will never never never eat a pineapple! The smell is so nasty and fake. I do NOT like this one. And the colour.. well.. maybe it's nice in summer. But i'm not super
enthusiastic about this polish.

I didn't put a top coat over the polishes, just because I wasn't sure if the top coat would get rid of the scent of the other polish.

After swatching all the polishes I decided that I liked two of the four.(The kiwi and the strawberry) The other ones I really didn't like. One of the two almost made me nauseous. Luckely the scent wasn't too strong ;)

Swatches: Essence Superheroes collection

The Essence Superheroes polishes originally consist of six different polishes: a thermo, a sand effect, a oil effect, a liquid gold and galaxy flakes. I only bought four of the six. I didn't like the galaxy flakes that much and the sand effect was already sold out I think because I didn't saw that one in the store.

In the store the 'Oil slick effect' and the 'Holo effect' were the ones that cought my eye. They both look goregous! But the 'liquid gold' has also a beautiful shine! And the 'Thermo effect' is the first thermo I own, I'm not really happy with the colors because purple makes my hands look very white and cold. And I never really liked the color pink. But the effect this polish gives is very nice.

Two coats of Super, man!
Three thin coats of 'Wonder wow! Man!'
Two thin coats of 'Power girl'
Three coats of 'Fantastic girl' Puple when cold.
Three coats of 'Fantastic girl' Pink when hot.

#27 Matt green and blue dots!

These were just to try out something, but I ended up liking them a lot!

I always look around on Instagram, Tumblr, WeHeartIt and Youtube for inspiration on nail designs. And I found a mani with a white base and all different sizes of dots. In different colors. I thought it looked awesome and wanted to try it out. The image I found was with the colors yellow, red and orange. But I decided to try it out with just two colors: a light green and a blue.

A few days before I made this mani, I bought new dottingtools! I already wanted to try them out, but somehow couldn't decide on what to make with them, so this came right on time ;)

Also I wanted to use this mani for a (sort of) contest for a toyshop here in the Netherlands. In this toyshop they have a little 'beauty department' with a small amount of nailpolishes, jewelry etc. On one of the shelving there was a note. On that note they were asking for someone who wanted to make how to video's with those products, all you had to do was make a tutorial video and upload that on your youtube channel and send an email with the link to that tutorial video to the organizers of the contest. I wanted to join immediately because I just thought it would be fun to try.

I made this tutorial for this contest, but ended up not sending the mail with the link to the organizers of the contest. I wanted to, but when I got time to edit and upload this video the contest had already ended.. :( Well I don't mind to much, I had fun making this and now it's just a tutorial for my channel! ;)

I didn't use a lot of polishes for this look, for the dots you can just go for one color, or like I did two. But I think you can use a lot more colors and this mani would still look cool!

#26 Baby blue nails for my sister

You can call me an aunt now! :D

A month ago, my sister gave birth to a baby boy. He's a beautiful little boy and I love him already!
For this, I made a nailart with a baby blue and a darker blue. The design is easy to recreate with a striper or a toothpick.

The polishes I used for this look are the following:

#24 Galaxy nails!

To Infinity And Beyond!

These galaxy nails,,, I like the way they turned out! ;) I wanted to do this nail art for a long time now, but for some reason never did. But here they are! And even better I could've ever imagine. This manicure is really suited for fall and winter.... and spring... and summer... so i guess it's a manicure that you can do throughout the year!

I used a little sponge and various colors to make my galaxy nails. The colors I used to create this AWESOME mani. (can you tell i'm excited about this nail art ;))

#23 Animal print ~ Leopard

Leopard print

A friend of mine absolutely LOVES leopard print, she has everything with that print: shoes, jewelry, bags and so on! So I was inspired by her to do this nailart. I'm not a big fan of animal prints on bags, shoes etc. but I do like it on my nails ;) It's not as noticeable as a animal print sweater or something like that. I like my animal print to be subtle ;)

The polishes I used are listed below

#20 Spider nails ~ Nailart for halloween

Spooky, slimey and dark nails. It's time for Halloween nails!

It's October, the month were soo many things happen: World Animal Day, Breast Cancer Awareness month, Thanksgiving and soooo much more. And of course, the reason why I made this manicure: Halloween!

I our family we don't do anything with Halloween, but I just liked to paint my nails in a Halloween theme ;)

I bought the orange color one day before I made this mani, I thought the orange color almost screamed HALLOWEEN! I don't know why, but I had to buy it and make a halloween mani with it ;)

The polishes I used for this manicure are

I'm getting near the end of the Black and white challenge list. But not quite yet! :)

After this one I'll still have four more Black & White mani's to create and share with you!

This time I had to make something with a colorfull base and white decorations. So I made these adorable sheep nails inspired by the amazing JuliaMll

Black & White challenge! Part 4! #7

It has been quite some time since I last postd a tutorial. I have been really busy and just didn't had the time to edit. I filmed it some days ago and now i finally got the time to edit the tutorial and upload it on Youtube!

Part four of the Black & White challenge: A white base with color. And this is what I made for this challenge

You can watch the tutorial on this design if you click right here!

The products I used on this design

Sensationail kit!

I got this starterskit about one and a half weeks ago.

My parents bought me this as a late birthday present. And I am so happy with it! It is a easy way to quickly make some beautyfull nails that will last two weeks. (I wanted to test if that was really true, I kept on the polish for about one week and maybe two days and then I just wanted to paint my nails another way. But the polish still looked like I painted them the day before!)

In the starterkit you will get a color of your choice, a LED lamp, primer, base/top coat, some lintfree whipes, gel cleanser and a file. You also get a manual where you can follow the step by step instructions to get the best results.

As I have told before, my nails are extremely fragile and thin. This is why I wanted to try this kit out. With this gelpolish on my nails they feel a lot stronger.

This is how my nails looked when I just painted them!

The red color really pops! and the shine didn't dissapear when the polish dried. I really like the result. But the removing of the polish... It was a pain! You have to use pure acetone and let the acetone 'soak' your nails and after that you have to scrape off the polish with a special tool. My nails looked so bad after all the polish was removed :(

I do think I'll do this again even though I really hated to remove the polish. But that doesn't change the fact that I really like the shine and the durability of the gelpolish!
